Staff Accountant

Money, Money, Money - spending, tracking and reconciling!   Are you good with numbers? Do you consider attention to detail to be your greatest strength? Do you thrive on figuring out discrepancies in financial statements? The Staff Accountant is responsible for all accounts payable, accounts receivable, and petty cash transactions. Position responsibilities include:  Manages timely reporting of monthly financial statements  Reconciles all general ledger balance sheet accounts  Reconciles bank statements  Maintains fixed asset ledger  Analyzes all revenue and expense account activity  Maintains accounts payable system  Purchases needed office supplies  Provides back-up for payroll processing Education: High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred  Experience: 3-5 years of related experience  Required Skills: Must be a team player and self-starter who is able to work independently as well as part of a team. Must have ability and desire to solve problems. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel at all levels of the organization. Must have the ability to project a positive, enthusiastic and professional image. Must have the ability to prioritize and organize work activities, and the ability to use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans Must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness while monitoring own work to ensure quality. Must have the ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and is able to deal with frequent change, delays and unexpected events. Must be consistent at work and on time, able to follow instruction, respond to management directions and solicit feedback to improve performance. Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in Word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (Microsoft Office). Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.  Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work. Work requires excellent attention to detail in performing data entry and other job duties. Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities, working in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills. Must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to learn necessary computer and technical skills essential to the position and Agency needs. Ability to relate to staff, clients and community around a mental health system. Preferred Skills:  Physical Requirements: Ability to access all Agency sites Work at a computer 75% or more of the day.  Ability to lift, push and/or pull 10 lbs. Other: Ability to obtain and maintain Agency and/or State of New Hampshire required background check(s) Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the ability to maintain that confidence Be a part of our team.
