Do you thrive on figuring out discrepancies in financial statements? The Staff Accountant is responsible for all accounts payable, accounts receivable, and petty cash transactions. Position responsibilities include: Manages timely reporting of monthly financial statements Reconciles all general ledger balance sheet accounts Reconciles bank statements Maintains fixed asset ledger Analyzes all revenue and expense account activity Maintains accounts payable system Purchases needed office supplies Provides back-up for payroll processing Education: High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred Experience: 3-5 years of related experience Required Skills: Must be a team player and self-starter who is able to work independently as well as part of a team. Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in Word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (Microsoft Office). Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work. Work requires excellent attention to detail in performing data entry and other job duties. Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities, working in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills. Must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to learn necessary computer and technical skills essential to the position and Agency needs. Ability to relate to staff, clients and community around a mental health system. Preferred Skills: Physical Requirements: Ability to access all Agency sites Work at a computer 75% or more of the day. Ability to lift, push and/or pull 10 lbs.
