West Central has developed a new innovative program that will provide Mobile Crisis Outreach to individuals 24 hours a day/7 days a week! The primary goal with this program is to assist individuals with a mental illness before they end up in a significant crisis and require hospitalization.
West Central Behavioral Mobile Crisis is looking to hire an individual who is interested in working on this team. We are looking for an individual to help those in need during times when other service providers are not available.
The Mobile Crisis Team works closely with other Community Health Centers and other community-based delivery systems. This will all occur within a two-person team. As a part of this team, the Crisis Peer develops meaningful and trusting relationships with clients, acts as a mentor, and gives consumers the support they need to better advocate for themselves, based on their personal experiences. The Crisis Counselor provides clients an example of what they can strive for in their recovery and works as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
As a member of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team provides peer support services to individuals in crisis in the community and in homes.
Uses own life experiences to engage individuals in crisis, assist individual with engaging in services and supports, and development of an individualized recovery plan.
Plays an advocacy role, provides transportation, and promotes self-care, illness self-management, and wellness and recovery.
High School diploma or GED equivalent OR
Lived experience
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills
