Location: Enfield Shaker Museum, Enfield, New Hampshire Dates of Employment: June 16–28, 2025 Compensation: $2,500-$3,500 stipend (for two weeks) + Onsite housing provided Meals Served Daily: Two meals per day (lunch and dinner) for approximately 45 adults About the Chosen Vale International Trumpet Seminar The Chosen Vale International Trumpet Seminar, presented by the Center for Advanced Musical Studies, is a world-renowned summer program that brings together leading trumpet artists and young adult musicians from around the globe. For the past 19 years, the Seminar has been held in residence at the Enfield Shaker Museum in Enfield, NH, offering an immersive, rustic summer camp experience that combines high-level musical training with community living. Participants range from college-aged students to mid-career professionals and represent a wide range of dietary needs. The seminar places high value on community, wellness, and shared experience—including mealtime. Position Overview We are seeking a Food Preparer & Cook to lead the kitchen operation during the 2025 Seminar. This individual will be responsible for developing a thoughtful, balanced menu; preparing all meals; and overseeing a small team of student workers who assist in clean-up. This is a hands-on position that requires creativity, flexibility, and the ability to operate in a commercial kitchen environment. We have successfully served delicious, nutritious meals in past years and aim to continue that tradition. Key Responsibilities ? Menu Planning: Develop a two-week menu (lunch and dinner) that accommodates various dietary needs including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other common restrictions. ? Meal Preparation: Cook and serve two meals per day (lunch and dinner) from dinner on Monday, June 16th through Saturday, June 28th, with Sunday, June 22nd off. ? Kitchen Management: Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the kitchen area, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed. ? Adaptability: Creatively work within the limitations of the seminar’s budget and kitchen setup. Qualifications ? Proven experience in food preparation for groups of 30 or more ? Comfort managing kitchen operations with provided equipment ? Ability to accommodate dietary restrictions and maintain food safety ? Strong organizational skills and a collaborative, team-focused mindset ?
