Crisis Peer Support Specialist

Join West Central's Mobile Crisis Rapid Response team providing in-person support during and after crisis, trauma and disasters 24 hours a day/7 days a week!  The primary goal with this program is to assist individuals with a mental illness before they end up in a significant crisis and require hospitalization. West Central Behavioral Health Mobile Crisis is looking to hire an individual(s) with lived experience in either mental health or substance abuse to help those in need during these times when other service providers are not available. The Mobile Crisis Team works closely with other Community Health Centers, area schools, law enforcement, hospitals, businesses, and other community-based delivery systems.  This will  occur within a two-person team.  As a part of this team you will assist with the crisis evaluation process, schedule and conduct timely follow-up interventions, assist with psychosocial supports and develop an individualized recovery plan.   To do this, we need passionate and dedicated individuals.  Individuals with high school diploma or lived experience.   For individuals who already have a full-time job, but believe in our mission, there are shifts available for first, second and third shifts time blocks. A Crisis Peer Support develops meaningful and trusting relationships with clients, acts as a mentor and advocate, and gives consumers the support they need to better advocate for themselves, based on their personal experiences.  The Crisis Peer Support Specialist provides clients an example of what they can strive for in their recovery and works as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
