West Central Behavioral Health is seeking applicants for the Supported Employment Coordinator position serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness. The individual will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Supported Employment team. This includes hire, onboard, supervise, coach, train, and manage performance. What is Supported Employment? Supported Employment (SE) is a recovery-oriented and Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) that helps people with mental illnesses find and keep meaningful jobs in the community. Jobs exist in the open labor market, pay at least minimum wage, and are in work settings that include people who are not disabled. SE for people with mental illness can be referred to as Individual Placement & Support (IPS). "Every person with a serious mental illness is capable of working competitively" (SAMSHA). What is Evidenced-Based Practice Program? SE is an Evidenced-Based Practice, meaning it is a treatment that has been researched and found to have effective outcomes. The Supported Employment Coordinator participates in the development of program activities, problem-solve issues and system barriers impacting the delivery of services, network with local businesses, collaborate with DHHS staff around program fidelity, and attend to the day-to-day operations of the Supported Employment program. Responsibilities: · Coordinate all aspects of the supported employment programs to include supervision of Supported Employment Specialist. · Develop and train staff in workforce competencies; ensure program and staff meet all goals. · Ensure benefit/entitlement information is disseminated in a timely manner. · Provide ongoing communication and education to clinical teams in regard to supported employment services. · Function as a Supported Employment Specialist for assigned consumers. · Provide direct Supported Employment Services, illness management skills, employment planning, job development services and employer support. · Serve as a link to relevant community stakeholders through education, advocacy, and support to ensure a strong network of care is maintained. Bachelor’s degree in education, rehabilitation, counseling, social work, nursing or the equivalent education and work experience. Master’s level degree in rehabilitation counseling or related field is preferred. 2 years’ related Human Services experience Supervisory experience Be a part of our team!
