Responsibilities:
- Serve as School Nurse for students enrolled at Crossroads Academy five days a week
- Oversee the general operations of the health office
- Triage for illness, injury, and mental health issues/implement first aid treatments/treat for illnesses
- Prepare and distribute “Daily and Attendance” and other communications as needed
- In collaboration with other employees, update emergency response plan annually and provide training to Staff & FacultyParticipate in assigned committees
- Schedule and monitor all emergency safety drills, including for fire and lockdown
- Provide annual training for faculty in universal precautions, confidentiality issues, and special health care issues
- Provide instruction to office staff as needed re: health office assistance
- Implement policies and procedures related to health and safety and accident reports
- Implement individualized student health plans and individualized emergency action plans
- Assist with student health screenings for grades K-8
- If parent has not communicated, call parents to confirm when students are absent
- Contact parents and refer to physicians as needed
- Assist with and collaborate with the school counselor for student mental health issues. Coordinate responses with the school counselor, Head of School, and Assistant Head of School for Academic Affairs
- Serve as a health liaison to the Crossroads community, Upper Valley, and medical community
- Supervise substitute nurses and provide substitute lesson plans
- Communicate with individual parents and via health office web page and email if needed regarding health issues/trends/opportunities
- Provide additional faculty in-service training as needed
- Function as an integral part of the admin team
- Assist with documentation on Worker’s Compensation issues
- Such other duties as may be assigned to you.
