Opening reception: Friday, May 3, from 5-7 pm for The Lift of Blue: A Group Exhibition in Support of Mental Health Awareness. A collaboration with West Central Behavioral Health and AVA. To be featured in the Linda Roesch Visual Arts Gallery at AVA Gallery and Art Center May 3-June 29, 2024. The reception is free and open to the public. Remarks by West Central and AVA's leadership at 5:45 pm.
Exhibition theme summary: Cerulean, Cobalt, Phthalo, Prussian, Ultramarine– artists know these names well: they are blue. Gazing at a blue sea– or any body of water can lower your heart rate, and blood pressure, and increase feelings of relaxation. Sky gazing offers mood-enhancing qualities too– the blue of the sky on a crystal blue-bird day in winter will surely lift your spirits.
