Come get your science on at our next Suds & Science event featuring Dr. Kate Buckman (Connecticut River Conservancy) on April 2, 7 pm at the Vermont Center for Ecostudies. Throughout her career Kate has worked in various freshwater, estuarine, and marine aquatic ecosystems, traveling from NH to the Caribbean, the deep sea, and back to NH and the Connecticut River watershed. Despite the outward differences between these areas, this journey allowed Kate to observe common threads in aquatic ecology and how humans interact with water. She will talk about her experiences and observations and invites discussion around how our actions here in New England may reach farther than we think. If you haven't been to a Suds & Science event, then your time has come to join us with a beverage for some science at the Upper Valley’s premier science discussion series. Suds & Science isn't some boring academic talk with mindless PowerPoint slides--no thank you—we’ve all been there and done that. Instead, picture a scientist standing in your living room--talking with (not at) you and your friends. Engage them, ask questions, and leave knowing more than you did when you walked in….and did we mention there’s no PowerPoint? We’ll provide light snacks and some seltzer waters, but folks are welcome to bring their own beverages (alcoholic or otherwise) and food and make themselves at home.
