Panel Information: Discover the essential basics of small business law in this open panel discussion with Vermont Law & Graduate School Professor Nicole Killoran and several VLGS students. They will help you pinpoint issues in your business that may require legal solutions. They aim for you to come away with a good grasp of common legal concerns for entrepreneurs, and an understanding of how to make good use of legal services to start, protect, and boost your business.

Host Information: Nicole Killoran originally hails from Alaska and Utah, but Vermont has become her home. She is a 2012 graduate of Vermont Law School (JD/MELP). After graduation, she dabbled in private practice and developed experience in a few areas, including litigation, land use/permitting, Act 250, landlord-tenant, property, and bankruptcy law. In 2017, Nicole returned to VLS and joined the faculty with the JD Externship Program. She had the pleasure of walking with hundreds of students as they found their externships with judges and lawyers across the country, and celebrating their successes while in the field. In 2023, Nicole transitioned to the Director position for the Entrepreneurial Legal Laboratory (VLSell), Vermont Law and Graduate School’s small business legal education clinic. In her new position, she enjoys meeting business owners across the state, helping them navigate the law and the legal system, and connecting them with the Vermont Bar to meet their legal needs.
