Salary Range $20.85 - $31.27 Hourly Description The People & Culture Generalist is responsible for providing HR support to Co-op employees across various business units. Responsibilities will include leave administration, recruiting, new hire paperwork at orientation, assisting with on-boarding of new employees, and setting up new employees in HRIS. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: (not an all inclusive list) Manage employment application system/process Work with hiring managers and HR staff complete the hiring process Place job postings/advertising Perform pre-screen interviews Complete background checks and employment verifications as applicable Complete new hire paperwork in compliance with employment regulations Prepare and present job offer letters to potential hires Enter new hire data into the HRIS, ensuring accuracy Act as HR liaison to the JLMC Complete termination paperwork and HRIS entries Perform exit interviews; collate and distribute results Support employees who go out on medical leave with FMLA, ADA and/or STD Track leaves of absence Calculate department specific metrics Act as backup for payroll Act as a backup for benefits presentation at orientation Act as a backup for orientation Order office supplies for all locations, and other supplies as requested Sort and distribute mail for all locations Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent required 1 year of progressive Human Resources experience Recruiting experience strongly preferred Excellent communication skills Strong understanding of the need for tact, discretion, and confidentiality in communication Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be effective at all organizational levels Able to quickly establish credibility Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Flexible, supportive, and adaptive to changes Good understanding of software systems/processes Working knowledge of Employment Law, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, OSHA, Workman’s Compensation and other aspects of employment Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail Excellent follow through
