Bestselling novelist and former contributing editor of Outside and National Geographic Adventure, Heller will talk about hope, community, and a sense of home on Thursday, October 2 at 6pm, at The Hotel Coolidge (39 South Main Street, White River Junction, VT). Doors open at 5:30pm.

Heller has a deep connection to Vermont, where he attended high school, and is a graduate of Dartmouth (1982) and the Iowa Writer’s Workshop. Several of Heller’s works, The Dog Stars, Celine, The River, and most recently, Burn, have been on the NY Times Best Seller List. Heller is also the 2025 recipient of the Sarah Josepha Hale Award by the Richards Free Library in Newport, NH.
