Igloo Build 2026

Explore and enjoy the season with one of the Museum’s longest-running traditions—Igloo Build! This event is scheduled for February 7. This event is highly weather dependent and so if the snow conditions aren’t sufficient we will try again on February 21.

Bring water bottles, warm winter weather gear (you’ll be outside for 2-3 hours, toes and fingers will get cold!), and if you’re a member, bringing your member card will streamline your admission.

The event will start at 10:30 with an introduction from our visiting expert igloo engineer, Dr. Norbert E. Yankielun (Bert). If you’re unable to make it for the earlier 10:30 start, we will have a second introduction in the afternoon at 1:00pm.
