Writing The Other Join us for a dynamic character-writing workshop led by Judith Hertog, a writer and educator at Dartmouth College. In this session, you’ll learn how to write real characters that feel alive on the page—whether you’re building a short story, novel, or personal narrative. Perfect for writers of all levels who want to deepen their craft and spark new creative inspiration. A message from Judith: In this two-hour workshop you will explore how to write a portrait of a person. We will read and analyze some examples from literature. Then, with empathy and compassion, you too will use words to create characters. No prior writing experience is required; just an open mind and the courage to try. About the teacher: Judith Hertog is a writer, teacher, and storyteller. She grew up in Amsterdam but, after some wandering around the world, ended up living in Vermont. She teaches writing at Dartmouth College and organizes storytelling in the Upper Valley. Her website is: www.judithhertog.com
