Carolan Workshop & Jam Mini-Fest

Join us for a mini-festival and celebration of music by Turlough O’Carolan (1670-1738), Irish harper and composer.
We’ll begin with a workshop led by UVMC harp instructor Rachel Clemente to learn a tune or two. This workshop is open to all instruments, and taught primarily by ear with sheet music provided at the end.

Following the workshop, from 6-7 pm, UVMC will host a special O’Carolan version of our Slow Jam. Led by Amy Cann and George Fowler, we’ll play turns by Carolan (and others!) at a gentle tempo, with each participate invited to suggest a tune. All acoustic instruments welcome. This is a pay-as-you-wish event.

Rachel Clemente and her band, If You Must Know, will perform at Anonymous Coffeehouse on the same night. The event takes place 7:30-9:30 pm next door at First Congregational Church of Lebanon. Visit their website for more details and a detailed schedule.
