Its influence has spread widely since our beginnings\, and this course will trace that history in both the white and black communities. The study will focus on the music and the culture as it always does and will not concentrate on the religious aspects. There will be much to cover and it will be very meaningful both historically and musically. The course will be given live\, feature YouTubes of the music\, local performers playing their favorite gospel songs\, and class discussion and sharing.
